WHATEVER.WORKS is an early-stage B2B SaaS startup based in Freiburg, Germany, pioneering Workations as an HR benefit for organisations. Your role

We are looking for a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer (f/m/d) to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer, you play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure of our platform. You collaborate with our development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of our applications, leveraging our tech stack on AWS which includes React, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Redis and SQS.

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes
  • Monitor system performance and reliability, identifying and resolving issues proactively
  • Collaborate with our development teams to ensure efficient integration and delivery of software solutions
  • Maintain and optimize our cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Design and operate monitoring, logging and alerting systems
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC)
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational practices and DevOps methodologies
  • Provide support during incidents and contribute to post-incident analysis and remediation

Your profile

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices
  • Proficiency in managing CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and services like EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker or Kubernetes
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar
  • Understanding of security best practices
  • Fluency in English; German language skills are a plus
  • Living within Germany or open to call Germany your new home
